"Whatever," said Jack - and sighed. Yep, he thought. Gang up on the new guy. In some ways, when it came down to it, Hell was really pretty predictable ...

The Verdict:
Enjoyable and fun but not perfect. It's most likely to appeal to teenage boys, given the emphasis on gore and the revolting, but Esme is a solid heroine in the kick-ass mode and Jack and Charlie have a believable friendship. I'm looking forward to reading more by Sam Enthoven.
