The Blurb On The Back:

The Electric Church grants you eternal life – whether you want it or not ...

Avery Cates is a lowlife contract killer, prepared to slit anyone’s throat for a few measly Yen. But even he gets the heebie-jeebies from the plasticised, eternally serene stare of the Monks. He’ll have to come face to face with them soon enough though, because Cates is on the run from the System Cops and can only redeem himself by taking out the head of the Electric Church. That’s if the gun-toting, super-augmented cybernetic Monks don’t take his own head first ...

The Review (Cut For Spoilers): )

The Verdict:

A fast-paced action thriller set in a dystopian future I enjoyed the world-building in this novel and the action scenes are well handled and coherent. However the characterisation of the supporting cast was perfunctory at best and purely there to service the plot and deus ex machine is used too often to get Cates out of trouble. However it’s a reasonable read and I’ll read the sequel, THE DIGITAL PLAGUE to see what happens to Cates next in this series.
