Watching by Judy Allen
Dec. 18th, 2011 10:17 pmThe Blurb On The Back:
Six very different people.
Six amazing animal stories.
One quest.
From hundreds of applicants Lee chooses just five students to help him film a documentary. Sharing only their passion for the natural world, the young enthusiasts struggle to work together until, one by one, they tell their own incredible stories: stories about where their love of wildlife first came from; stories that bring them together.
But while waiting and watching for a mysterious animal, the team uncovers the most dramatic story of them all.
( The Review (Cut For Spoilers): )
The Verdict:
Judy Allen’s middle grade novel is a strange beast that lacked the magic that should come from any story about animals. It’s an okay read but I found the characters a little flat and the individual stories lacking anything that completely grabbed me.
