The Blurb On The Back:

He’s back … and badder than ever!

Frankie is a BIG FAT ZOMBIE GOLDFISH with hypnotic powers and a mind of his own. When his owner Tom takes him on a trip to the seaside, he finds himself in a stand-off with a Super Zombie Eel – has the fierce fish finally met his match? In the second story, all eyes are on Frankie as he takes on a starring role in the school play!

Two big fat fishy stories that will keep you hooked and make you laugh out loud!

The Review (Cut For Spoilers): )

The Verdict:

The second in Mo O’Hara’s ZOMBIE GOLDFISH series contains another pair of witty and entertaining stories that are based on the strong friendship between Tom, Pradeep and Frankie and the deep sibling rivalry that can exist between brothers. Mark is a suitably dastardly evil scientist and although I missed Sanj, O’Hara makes up for it with a double dose of Sami who is adorable and definitely Frankie’s sidekick. The second story was probably my favourite because the threat to the boys’ friendship was very real and believable and I liked the joke about BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT. The first story though did have some sly SCOOBIE DOO references, which I enjoyed (especially the creepy lighthouse keeper) but which may go over the head of younger readers. Special mention must also go to Marek Jagucki’s illustrations, which are absolutely smashing and really bring out the humour in the text. I especially loved the flicker animation in the bottom right hand corner and Pradeep’s prior acting experience as various trees. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this and very much look forward to reading Frankie’s next set of adventures.
